The Monday afternoon league has now been going for 7 years. After humble beginnings there are now over 30 members who meet on a regular basis for competition play in a league format playing in teams of 2 a side (4 singles and 1 doubles).
The format has been copied by the Ormesby Table Tennis Club and on Monday (4th April) a team from Ormesby came down to Hull for a days table tennis. The result, although somewhat immaterial, was a resounding win for the Hull players, the main purpose of the day was to cement relationships with Ormesby and give a lot of players the opportunity of playing different people which they would not normally have. A return visit will be planned for later in the year. A short video, shot by one of the Ormseby players can be seen on YOUTUBE (Ctrl + click on link below)
Hull v Ormesby 4th April 2011
As promised the return match with Ormesby was organised for 11th July and a party of 15 from the Rea Balmford Table Tennis Centre made their way 'up north'. Once again another very enjoyable day was had by all, and again it was the Hull team which came out on top - even though they brought in a couple of ringers!! Mike Newton again obliged with a short video which can be seen by clicking on the link below
