Handicap Teams - Season 2022/23

The competition had it's final match played at the Goodwin Centre, featuring two Goodwin teams on Wednesday 26th April 2023.

Goodwin Scorpions, a team playing in Division 2, playing premier division opponents and club mates Good Tigers started off with a 2 - 0 win for  Luke Smith angainst Graham Mannion. Second on for the Scorpions was Kim Chang, up against the very talented and experienced Joe Naser with Joe coming  out on top in two deuce games. Next on the table were Scorpions Jade York and Tigers John Andrew. Jade restored Scorpions lead with a 2 - 0, so after all six players having played their first matches it was 2 - 1 to Scorpions.

Graham Mannion was back at the table for his second match, against Kim Chang and a 2 - 0 win for Graham brought the scores level again. Luke Smith back on for Scorpions and another good 2 - 0 win for Luke against John Andrew saw Scorpions take the lead for the third time. Back came Joe Naser to try and equal the score again but he came across an inspired opponent in Jade York who managed to win in 2 straight games to put Scorpions 4 - 2 ahead.

Game 7 was the deciding game and the only one that went to 3 games. Kim Chang beat John Andrew and so the destination of the trophy was decided.

A 5 - 2 win for Goodwin Scorpions, many congratulations.
